My Mission

To create a safer, healthier, & more equitable world for  everyone by pursuing collaborative research, harm reduction, policy advocacy, effective disease surveillance, data analysis, and support for education initiatives in public health and community wellness.

My Core Values

Collaboration
.

Improvement and protection of public health requires collaboration among many sectors. I will always strive to foster more effective partnerships and collaboration with government, non-profits, foundations, my colleagues, my community, other experts in different fields of practice, and the communities and populations which I serve. I recognize and uplift the talents of everyone, and value the unique contributions that each of us can make to improving the public health outcomes for all.

Compassion
.

I care very deeply about my colleagues, my mentors, the work we do together, and individuals in the populations we all serve.

Courage
.

I strive to do what is right to promote and protect the health of all, even when what is right is not necessarily what is easy.

Data-Driven.

I always aspire to use the latest and best metrics and data to assess progress toward public health goals and align my resources toward outcomes in a transparent and efficient manner.

Diversity.

Diversity in our various and multifaceted backgrounds, cultures, and experiences is an invaluable source of comprehensive understanding and knowledge. I proudly celebrate and value the many backgrounds, experiences, and identities among my friends, colleagues, and the communities we serve and live in.

Equity.

My quest to achieve improved health equity drives my research, interprofessional experiences, and community involvement to ensure representative processes, equal opportunities, and health justice for all.

Excellence
.

I take an “all-in” approach to confidently pursue the highest quality of work in everything I do.

Inclusivity.

I believe it is necessary to public health practice to incorporate all voices and all perspectives in all of our endeavors. “Nothing about us without us.”

Innovation.

I possess a deep passion, excitement, and drive to make the world a better place. I always keep my mind open to exploring creative solutions and novel approaches for the advancement of public health.

Integrity.

In all of my interactions, I strive to be ethical, honest, fair, and responsible for what I say and do. I believe that we must hold each other and ourselves accountable: for both what we say or choose not to say, and for what actions we take or choose not to take.

Perseverance.

I recognize that the challenges of public health are ever-changing, and that the road leading to well-being for all is challenging. In spite of these challenges, I remain constant and firm in my pursuit of the public health goals.

Respect.

I strive to promote community health in a way that respects the rights and dignity of individuals within those communities. I am committed to creating a respectful and nurturing environment for all, free from harassment or discrimination.

Social Justice.

I believe that all people deserve the chance to live their happiest, healthiest lives. This is not possible unless we work to break down individual, structural, and institutional barriers to health, well-being, and self-determination.
